About 120 out of 450 residents of Kibbutz Nachal Oz have petitioned the High Court of Justice against the government's decision to return the residents. "As long as the war continues and Omri Miran is held captive, it is impossible to maintain a normal life 800 meters from Gaza," they wrote. The petition was filed against the backdrop of some residents returning to their homes in recent days, as the government removed the "security restriction" on Gaza border communities about a month ago – essentially declaring there is no security risk in living in the area. Additionally, this month the "rehabilitation restriction" was lifted – meaning the kibbutz infrastructure has been restored and is suitable for habitation.
