Knesset Member Yuli Edelstein, who announced his intention to leave Likud, is in advanced talks to form a new party with former minister Ayelet Shaked. Shaked and Edelstein have been fully coordinating in recent weeks, both on strategy and on the positions and principles of their future party, as well as on members they hope to recruit to it. Sources close to Edelstein and Shaked say two options are before them regarding their action strategy: one is to complete 61 mandates for the 'change bloc,' if it becomes larger and has a chance to form a government. The second is to force a broad unity government. The chance in their view to separate Netanyahu from the ultra-Orthodox is small.
