MK Porush visited yeshiva students in military prison: 'Detained for studying Torah'

|
MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) visited yeshiva students who are considered deserters in military prison. After the visit he said: "I met several young men who are detained for the offense of studying Torah. I found them determined, they believe in the importance of sitting and studying Torah, of course they are not comfortable." He added: "This situation is really uncomfortable, we need to strengthen them. They are sitting in prison in a country under Jewish rule because they are studying Torah, neither my father nor my grandfather imagined we would reach this absurdity here in the land of Israel."
