Haim Roter, chairman of the "Shomrim" organization, which works to maintain order in Bnei Brak, is the senior official arrested yesterday on suspicion of committing dozens of rapes of minors and adults over more than 25 years. Following the publication of the case on ynet last month, dozens of complaints were filed against him while he was not in the country. The offenses he is suspected of are sodomy, rape and abuse of authority, and his detention was extended yesterday by eight days.
