A couple from France abandoned their young children - aged 4 and 5 - in a wooded area in Portugal, leaving them with only spare clothes, two pieces of fruit and two bottles of water. This was reported by the British Daily Mail, which noted that the parents blindfolded them and told them they would play a game called 'driving out the devil' - after which they abandoned them. The incident began about a month ago, when the mother (41) from the city of Colmar in eastern France disappeared with the two children on a trip across Europe - which the stepfather (55) joined. Security camera footage shows the children playing in a car. A local couple found the children, who according to them 'were crying, terrified and asking for their father.'
