Herzliya mayor criticizes after cliff collapse: 'Result of years of foot-dragging'

|
Herzliya Mayor Yariv Fisher sharply criticized the state following the collapse of a cliff at Sidney Ali Beach in the city. He claimed that 'we are a moment away from closing the sea beaches' and explained that 'the cliff collapse is a result of years of foot-dragging and failure to budget the national program for protecting coastal cliffs.' Fisher added: 'We will not take risks with human life - without immediate action by the state and if a solution is not found we will be forced to consider closing beach sections. I call on the Minister for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of the Interior to reach agreements and solutions.'
