At the request of France's interior minister, police in the country have banned the 'Annual Gathering of Muslims in France' event, which was scheduled to take place between the 3rd and 6th of the month. French police stated that 'the decision was made in a national and international context, amid high tensions and heightened concern over terrorism and public order disruptions.' The ban on the gathering came after Paris police thwarted an attack on Bank of America offices last weekend. The head of the Muslim organization that organized the gathering said he would appeal the decision.
