The Southern District Attorney's Office has decided to file an indictment against Beer Sheva Deputy Mayor Shimon Tuvol, who was investigated on suspicion of assaulting a young Bedouin man at a gas station in September 2024. The prosecution stated that "after examining the evidence in the case, it was decided to file an indictment subject to a hearing. The hearing process is currently taking place." The attorney for the young man who was attacked, Shahda Ibn Bari, responded: "I feel satisfaction with the decision to bring the attacker to justice. This is a person who not only attacked but lied throughout the entire process."
