MK Tamanu-Shata calls to stop Milbitsky's appointment: 'Heavy cloud hangs over his head'

|
The Chair of the Committee for the Advancement of Women's Status and Gender Equality, MK Pnina Tamanu-Shata, sent a letter to Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz calling to stop the appointment of MK Hanoch Milbitsky as Chair of the Finance Committee. She wrote: "Although the presumption of innocence applies to every person, the Knesset of Israel should be the place from which a clear and uncompromising message emerges about the fight against physical, sexual and emotional violence against women. Someone who has a heavy cloud hanging over his head and suspicions of rape, harassment and extortion cannot hold one of the strongest positions in the Knesset and the state, as long as these suspicions have not been refuted."
