MK Gilad Kariv (Democrats) arrived at a protest in Jerusalem and confronted the commander of the Moriah police station, Chief Superintendent Yuval Reuven, after a protester was arrested. Kariv was furious with the officer: "You will not treat protesters violently." At one point, the officer replied: "Go shout in the Knesset," and Kariv said: "You will not speak like that to a citizen or to a member of Knesset. You are not above the law." Later, the MK stated that "This is what police officers look like when they act out of flattery to the minister and not out of protecting the rights and interests of the Israeli public."
