Cyprus's drug enforcement unit arrested two couples, one Israeli and one Palestinian, on suspicion of distributing drugs into the country. According to reports in Cyprus, the affair began following information received by the unit regarding alleged importation and distribution of drugs via luxury yachts, through marinas and ports in Larnaca and Limassol. The suspects were brought before the court in Limassol where eight-day detention orders were issued against all of them. In a search of the Israeli suspect's (53) home in a village near Limassol, police found 34 grams of cocaine, 246.5 grams of ketamine, and more than 4,000 euros in cash. In the home where the 50-year-old Palestinian man resided, police found 126 kilograms and 630 grams of ketamine.
