8 suspects from Daka crime organization arrested: 'Extorted protection money from contractors in Jaffa'

The National Unit for the Fight Against Economic Crime (Lahav 433) arrested eight people in Jaffa and southern Israel on suspicion of extortion, collection of protection money and money laundering. Among those arrested are senior members of the Daka crime organization. According to the allegations, the suspects forced various services in construction, infrastructure and security over time on large contracting companies building projects in Pardes Daka in Jaffa. Police seized airsoft weapons, approximately 120,000 shekels in cash, vehicles and assets. The suspects will be brought to a remand extension hearing at the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court.
