At least six people were killed in a 5.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, and dozens more were injured. Local authorities reported that panicked residents rushed to the streets after buildings shook from the tremor. The earthquake occurred at 10:38 (local time). The epicenter was about 25 kilometers from the capital, and according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), its depth was approximately 10 km. According to a local television channel, three people were killed when a ceiling and wall of a building collapsed in Dhaka, and three others died from falling railings.
