Yinon Winter's party unveils conscription plan: 'Up to 25% of ultra-Orthodox can study Torah in recognized framework'

|
The Amcha Yisrael party, led by Ofer Winter, has published the main points of its conscription plan 'for all sectors of the population.' According to the party, 'The clear principle is: give and take. Don't give - don't receive. Every citizen of draft age will be required to report to the state and arrange their status in one of three tracks: IDF service, national-civic service, or a recognized and supervised Torah study framework. The quota of students eligible for recognition as Torah scholars will not exceed 25% of the ultra-Orthodox draft cohort. A law will be enacted as a single binding framework before the government is sworn in. We will not settle for a general commitment to address the issue later.'
