Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's inner circle responded to criticism against the military exemption law, stating that "the draft law presented today, something that hasn't been done since the state's establishment, will bring approximately 23,000 ultra-Orthodox to military service within 3.5 years. That's 4 times the average until now and the targets set in the original Liberman-Gantz law. The law combines sanctions and strict limitations for not meeting the targets. This is an excellent law, and this law will pass."
