Lapid: Netanyahu asked to open budget for military; cancel coalition funds instead

|
Opposition leader Yair Lapid's office claims that "during a security briefing between Netanyahu and Lapid, Netanyahu requested to open the budget law to transfer more funds to the security system." According to the statement, Lapid replied: "I support the proposal and back transferring the funds because we need to strengthen the IDF, but the budgetary source cannot be raising taxes on the middle class and reservists that you are leading toward. Instead, include in the proposal a cancellation of the corrupt coalition funds and the tens of billions of shekels you are currently transferring to finance ultra-Orthodox draft evasion."
