A series of brigadier general appointments is expected in the IDF. Among others, Gaza Division commander Brig. Gen. Barak Hiram will be appointed as head of the Operations Division in the Operations Directorate; Southern Command Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Manor Yanai, who served in this position on October 7, will be appointed as Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces; 401st Armored Brigade commander during the war, Col. Benny Aaron, will be appointed as commander of Division 146 in the Northern Command - the largest reserve division in the IDF - and will be promoted to brigadier general; Givati Brigade commander during the war, Col. Liron Batito, will be appointed as Gaza Division commander in the Southern Command and promoted to brigadier general; Nahal Brigade commander during the war, Col. Yair Zuckerman, will be appointed as commander of the company and battalion commanders course in the Ground Forces and promoted to brigadier general, and Division 146 commander Brig. Gen. Yiftach Norkin will be appointed as commander of Division 36 (Ga'ash Formation) in the Northern Command.
