Two of the three people killed in the gunfire exchange near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul are terrorists. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper Haberturk, which added that the terrorists were carrying long firearms and that a third terrorist was captured. Reuters news agency reported, citing sources, that Israeli diplomats are not currently stationed in Turkey.
