Bill granting tax breaks to new immigrants and returning Israelis passes second and third readings

|
The Knesset Finance Committee approved a bill for second and third readings as part of the Economic Arrangements Law that will grant tax breaks to new immigrants and Israelis who returned to the country during 2026. The new law will provide tax benefits for five years on part of the immigrants' income from work and business in Israel. The cost of the benefits will reach half a billion shekels this year. The law has drawn criticism, as it is claimed it will primarily benefit wealthy new immigrants.
