US Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the framework agreement signed in his presence between Israel and Lebanon, stating that 'the United States affirms its intention to improve the capability and professionalism of the Lebanese army.' According to him, 'the Department of Defense is prepared to upgrade the Lebanese army with over $30 million under existing authorities and appropriations to support the President's vision for lasting peace in Lebanon. The United States will remain fully engaged and committed to allocating significant resources, including immediate humanitarian assistance of $100 million in coordination with the UN.'
