Eliezer "Geizi" Tsafrir, former senior official of the Shin Bet and Mossad, has died at the age of 92. He began his military career as an officer in the Intelligence Corps and participated in the Six-Day War. After his discharge from the IDF, he joined the Shin Bet and was sent to Africa. In the late 1960s, he joined the Mossad and held various positions in different departments. He served in Mossad stations in Europe, the Middle East and South America, and participated in numerous operations. Among other roles, he also headed the Mossad station in Tehran and was in charge of the emergency program for evacuating Israelis from Iran before the Islamic Revolution.
