American rock star Bruce Springsteen announced his support for Abdoul El-Sayed, the Democratic candidate for Senate from Michigan, a prominent critic of Israel who calls for ending U.S. military aid to it. "Dr. El-Sayed is a fighter for the American Constitution, for our democracy and against the corrupt, lawless and anti-American leadership currently in the White House. That's why I support him one hundred percent," Springsteen said. His announcement was published a day after Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens, who ran against El-Sayed in the primary, announced she would support his Republican rival Mike Rogers, against the backdrop of disagreements regarding Israel. The Senate election will take place tomorrow.
