The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed that Mahmoud Abu Alwan, head of Hamas's finance department, was eliminated yesterday in a strike in Khan Younis. An IDF spokesperson stated that "Abu Alwan began his activity about a decade ago. As part of his work in the finance department, he dealt with budgeting all of Hamas's systems. Throughout the war, more than a billion shekels were transferred under the terrorist's direction to finance Hamas's activities, thereby serving as a decisive factor in preserving Hamas's governance and survival." It was further reported that "recently, the terrorist worked to restore the capabilities of the terror organization, while systematically violating the ceasefire agreement. The terrorist was eliminated in order to remove the threat he posed."
