Last week, a call took place between U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which the latter initiated, regarding allegations of hunger in Gaza. This was reported by NBC citing American and Western sources, who noted that the call came after Trump contradicted Netanyahu when he told reporters that children in Gaza "look very hungry." According to the sources, Netanyahu tried to explain during the call that such a phenomenon does not exist - then Trump interrupted him and began shouting that he did not want to hear about the hunger being fake, and that his aides had shown him evidence. One American source described the call as "mostly one-sided, where Trump was the one talking most of the time."
