Saudi Arabia has opened an investigation into the attempted attack on the Fly Dubai aircraft and its implications for aviation safety, parallel to the criminal investigation being conducted by the United Arab Emirates. This was reported by three sources involved in the matter to Reuters news agency. Israel has offered to participate in the investigation led by Saudi Arabia, but has not yet been invited to take part. This was stated by Ofer Vaknin, director of the Aviation Accident Investigation Authority at the Transportation Ministry to Reuters. "We are still waiting for notification from Saudi Arabia inviting us to participate in the investigation," he said.
