French President Emmanuel Macron said that his American counterpart Donald Trump has submitted a proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. "There is a proposal to meet and exchange views. A proposal was made specifically to achieve a ceasefire and then start broader discussions," Macron told reporters at the G7 summit in Canada, which Trump left earlier than expected due to the war between Israel and Iran. The French president added: "We need to see now if the parties will follow it. Any attempt to forcibly replace the regime in Iran would be a strategic mistake."
