PM on Zini's Shin Bet appointment: 'Six months before massacre, he warned precisely about invasion threat'

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the appointment of Major General David Zini as the head of Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) in a video statement, saying: 'I have been following Major General Zini over the years, and what made the biggest difference.' He added: 'When I read the report he wrote six months before the massacre, he warned precisely about the danger of a ground invasion that would catch us by surprise, and that we needed to prepare differently.' Netanyahu stated, 'I regret that this report never reached me, but I am also glad that there was someone who truly alerted, warned and saw things as they should be seen.'
