U.S. President Donald Trump said during a statement that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had asked for his help in stopping the civil war in Sudan. "He wants me to do something with Sudan, and we've already started doing something with Sudan," Trump said, noting that he began addressing the issue about half an hour after the crown prince explained its importance to him. His remarks were made against the backdrop of the raging civil war in the country between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudanese army, and in the shadow of the massacre carried out by the militia in the city of El Fasher last month.
