Mother of Oz Daniel: 'You said, I'll do anything, but I won't be in captivity' - and you fought with your tank crew

|
Merav, the mother of IDF fallen soldier Oz Daniel who was laid to rest in Israel on Sunday, eulogized her son at the Kfar Saba cemetery. She recalled: "We talked about kidnappings. You said decisively: 'Mom, if I encounter a situation where they try to kidnap me - I will resist with all my strength and do everything to avoid being kidnapped.' I told you it's better to act wisely because in such a situation the kidnappers hold the position of power. But you stood before me with your beautiful bright eyes, insisted and said 'Mom, I'll do anything, but I won't sit in captivity.' When you were kidnapped - you weren't alone. You were there with your tank crew friends. Together you fought bravely, faithfully and with rare courage."
