The police released their response to a video on social media showing a youth riding a scooter allegedly being run over by a patrol car. It was stated that "contrary to what was claimed in the publication, those involved in the incident are not police officers and the vehicle involved is not a police car." According to a source familiar with the details, a municipal security team arrived at the location due to disturbances in the public space. Several youths riding scooters provoked the security team and one of them rode close to the vehicle. The youth braked suddenly in an act of defiance and was run over. The Petah Tikva municipality stated that "the team did not flee the scene but rather moved a short distance and remained in the area, and additional municipal teams arrived at the scene."
