Data from the 2025 PISA test shows a sharp decline in the achievements of Israeli students in all areas, far beyond the OECD average. According to the data, compared to the test results conducted in 2022, Israel lost 38 points in reading comprehension, 25 in mathematics and 23 points in science in the current test. In reading comprehension, Israel dropped five places to 31st place out of 38 countries that are members of the organization. In science, a drop of two places was recorded, to 33rd place. In mathematics, Israel dropped one place and is also ranked 33rd here. According to Education Ministry data, the decline in scores in state education compared to the 2022 test is "particularly exceptional."
