Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said hours after the attacks on nuclear facilities that "in light of the military escalation and risks to the entire region, it is important that we safeguard the supreme national interest which requires Lebanon to avoid involvement or being dragged into the ongoing regional conflict." According to him, "Awareness of our national interest is the strongest weapon in these critical circumstances."
