Lapid on Trump's statement that Israel won't strike Dahieh: 'Full protectorate status'

|
Following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that Israel will not strike Dahieh at his request, opposition leader Yair Lapid wrote on X: "Full protectorate status." Yisrael Beiteinu party leader Avigdor Liberman sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, writing that "it is unacceptable that the north of the country is under heavy bombardment for days on end. Soldiers wounded, killed, and the prime minister of Israel is waiting for approval from Trump to bomb Dahieh. We must flatten Dahieh now." National Unity party leader Gadi Eisenkot also responded, saying that "there has never been a prime minister in Israel who has so submissively accepted a demand that is clearly unreasonable."
