Arbel Yehud: Before Oct. 7, Ariel and I had a beautiful life and plans to get married

Hostage survivor Arbel Yehud said at a ceremony marking two years since the Oct. 7 massacre that "I was released after 482 days and I am waiting for my Ariel (Ariel Cunio) to return home. I also speak for Silvia, Ariel and David's mother who are still in captivity. Her pain is with me every moment." She described her partner's big heart and added: "Before Oct. 7, we had a beautiful life in Nir Oz. We had plans to get married and were happy. We heard gunshots and knew terrorists were in the kibbutz. They tied up Ariel and didn't let us say goodbye." The ceremony was held at the Tent of Hope located at the Kennedy Center in Washington, attended by additional hostage survivors alongside senior American administration officials.
