|
The government has approved the establishment of Kiryat Shmona University in the Galilee, based on Tel Hai College. According to the decision, the new university will receive a total budget of 567 million shekels for a period of four years. The government made this decision during a meeting held in Kiryat Shmona, following the resolution of the Council for Higher Education (CHE) plenary, which approved the establishment of the university after meeting predetermined conditions. These conditions include: relocating the eastern campus of the college to Kiryat Shmona's jurisdiction, changing the institution's name, committing that all future construction will be exclusively in the city and fully integrating the university within Kiryat Shmona as an integral part of the rehabilitation, development and strengthening process of the city after the war.
