The activist, Mehran Bahrami, allegedly participated in an attack on a security vehicle in Isfahan in December 2022, which led to the death of a police officer and injuries to several others. The protests broke out that year following the death of young Iranian woman Mahsa Amini at the hands of the "morality police" because she allegedly did not comply with the hijab laws in the Islamic Republic.
