Danny Elgarat, brother of Itzik Elgarat who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7 and whose body was returned in a hostage deal, said that the autopsy of his brother's body indicates he was tortured to death during interrogation. In his account on X network, he wrote: "Itzik did not die from a heart attack. His body arrived with numerous broken ribs resulting from external pressure on the chest, broken toes and a broken nose." Elgarat added: "It cannot be legally determined what the certain cause of death was, but I conclude that such an extent of fractures in a living person could cause death."
