IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said at the scene of the shooting attack near the Judea Junction that "the initial investigation indicates that as a result of the force's activity, a serious attack against Israeli civilians was prevented. We will act forcefully, pursue and reach all those involved in the attack." He added: "We are in a state of supreme readiness and alert across all fronts. Our primary mission is to thwart terror and ensure security and stability for Israeli citizens. We will continue to strike and initiate wherever necessary and act with composure. We will not be dragged in and will not allow our enemies to influence us, especially in light of the sensitive week we are entering."
