US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States is imposing sanctions on UN representative Francesca Albanese, who is "responsible for Israeli violations in the territories." Albanese, who regularly harshly criticizes Israel, has previously justified the October 7 massacre and was accused of antisemitism. Rubio said the sanctions were imposed due to "Albanese's shameful efforts to prompt actions by the International Court in The Hague against American and Israeli officials. We will no longer tolerate her campaign of political and economic warfare."
