The IDF has cleared for publication that five soldiers operating under the Netzah Yehuda battalion were killed and 14 others were wounded, two of them seriously, in an explosion at an explosives site in the Beit Hanoun area in northern Gaza Strip. The military has so far permitted the publication of the names of two of them: Staff Sergeant Meir Shimon Amar, 20, from Jerusalem, a combat soldier in the Netzah Yehuda (97) battalion of the Kfir Brigade, and Sergeant Moshe Nissim Perash, 20, from Jerusalem, also a combat soldier in the Netzah Yehuda (97) battalion of the Kfir Brigade.
