The family of kidnapped soldier Matan Engrest has released additional footage of his abduction on October 7. The video shows Matan being dragged from his tank and beaten by the Gaza crowd while unconscious. Along with the video, his family also released an audio recording from the tank from which he was kidnapped - moments before the encounter with the terrorists. Matan was in the tank with Itai Chen and Daniel Peretz, who were killed in the encounter and are being held by Hamas in Gaza, and Tomer Leibowitz who also fell. In the recording, Matan can be heard shouting after the tank and his friends were hit: "What's that, terrorist, stop, stop! Behind him! Peretz! Is anyone hurt? Peretz!"
