U.S. President Donald Trump intervened in the Israeli elections and announced his support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite claiming in August that it was "best to stay out of this election." Trump posted on Truth Social, writing: "Netanyahu has been an outstanding Prime Minister, and an even greater partner for peace in the fight against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been systematically destroyed, both militarily and economically, and unless it changes its ways, and quickly, we will soon finish the job. If Israel has the wrong leader, which is anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work itself, and I am not inclined to do so."
