Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said that talks on a security arrangement with Israel "may yield results in the coming days." Al-Sharaa said that a security arrangement with Israel is "necessary," but emphasized that "Israel must respect Syria's airspace and territorial integrity." He added that if a security agreement is reached, it would be possible to achieve "other agreements" as well, but stressed that "peace and normalization" are not on the table. Al-Sharaa also noted that the U.S. is not pressuring Damascus to reach an agreement.
