The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance have reached a principle agreement to freeze the half-shekel increase in public transport that was supposed to take effect at the end of January. Discussions are in advanced negotiations regarding the source of funding, the duration of the postponement and other details required to finalize the agreement. The Finance Ministry estimates that such a postponement requires a budget of approximately 200 million shekels and expects the decision to be signed in the coming days.
