Katz Bars Military Advocate General from Bar Association Conference

|
Defense Minister Israel Katz decided to prohibit Military Advocate General, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, from participating in the Israel Bar Association conference scheduled for this week. In response to her request, the Defense Minister stated that IDF officers should not appear at forums with controversial and political content during these times, and implicitly criticized the Military Advocate General: 'She would be better off dedicating her time to fulfilling her IDF duties, including completing investigations on matters the public expects answers about, and helping IDF commanders and soldiers refute both domestic and foreign allegations regarding IDF soldiers' conduct in the Gaza war.'
