Opposition leader Yair Lapid responded to the ynet report that Shas chairman Aryeh Deri firmly refused a proposal to levy a tax on travelers to Uman to help fund the expected expenses for the state. He wrote on his X account that "Taxpayers, if you didn't travel abroad this year because you couldn't afford it, it's because the government took your money and used it to fund flights to Uman for Shas voters."
