Saudi Arabia is conducting advanced talks with the Trump administration in an attempt to reach a defense agreement similar to the one signed with Qatar after the failed assassination attempt of Hamas officials in Doha. This was reported by sources familiar with the matter to the Financial Times. According to the report, under the emerging agreement, Washington would provide formal security guarantees to the kingdom, similar to Trump's executive order that granted Qatar security guarantees. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is expected to visit the White House next month, which would be his first visit to the United States since 2018, to sign the deal.
