Suspicion: Southern resident forged documents for autism benefits worth tens of millions

|
The National Insurance Institute announced a fraud case amounting to tens of millions of shekels in "disabled child" benefits for autism claims. A southern Israel resident was arrested on suspicion of promoting widespread fraud alongside parents and children, which included forging documents, false presentations and fraudulently receiving millions of shekels. According to suspicions, the southern resident, the main suspect in the case, operated through a private company she owned and offered assistance to families in submitting disability benefit applications for their children based on autism. Additionally, the suspect recruited parents who were aware that their children did not meet the conditions for receiving benefits and submitted false applications on their behalf by forging medical documents, professional opinions and forms that appeared to be signed by recognized professionals. The investigation revealed the illegal receipt of disability benefits amounting to tens of millions of shekels.
