The Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment with the Central District Traffic Court against Shir Yered (38) from Kibbutz Dafna, for negligently causing the death of Senior Sergeant Yaniv Amran (51) on Road 471 near Petah Tikva in February. According to the indictment, a driver stopped on the road due to a tire blowout, and at that time Officer Amran was traveling on a police motorcycle. He stopped and directed the driver to move to a nearby traffic island. The defendant failed to notice the two despite having a wide field of vision, forcefully struck the vehicle and motorcycle, and the officer was killed instantly.
