Netanyahu assesses: Gaza emigration plan 'alive.' Deal? 'Small gaps, might take more time'

|
A senior political source told ynet that during the meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Netanyahu said he views Hamas's response to the Qatari proposal as negative but "the gaps are small enough for us to enter into talks with them. It might take more time." According to the senior source, Netanyahu does not intend to withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor in case of an agreement, and he said the voluntary emigration plan from Gaza is "still alive." The source further added: "The force that will manage the Strip will definitely be Palestinians, but not the Palestinian Authority - it is an invalid body that cannot be trusted with anything. Perhaps Israel will be responsible for the security system in Gaza for a period. Perhaps to some extent Israel will also be involved in the governmental system."
